Jerry (and others),

In fact your plea has been answered!

The Integrated Pest Management Working Group did take on this topic and
compiled a number of resources including tips on freezers which are posted
on the www.museumpests.net website in the Solutions section. Unfortunately
we had a recent incident with unauthorized access on the site and so a few
of the pages (including this material) are not back up yet. I hope that
people will be patient as we restore all the content and links and that you
will check back soon to find the useful resources created by Emily Kaplan
and the rest of the IPM-WG Treatment subgroup. I will post to this list
when the assets are again available.

Best,

Rachael

Every couple of years there are new questions about what freezer to buy,
recommended temperatures, etc.

I recommend you check the archives at CoOL:

http://cool.conservation-us.org/

especially the distlist archives:

http://cool.conservation-us.org/byform/mailing-lists/cdl/

If someone could gather this data and condense it, the result might be very
useful

Hi Bonnie,

We are also looking at chest freezers. If you get good recommendations off
list, would you consider sharing with me?

Thanks,
Amber

Subject: [pestlist] dermestid infestation

Dear Colleagues,

We are in the midst of a dermestid infestation and I am looking to hear from
institutions that have recently used any form of pesticide treatment for
building spaces. We are highly resistant to the use of pesticides for
multiple reasons. However, we are interested in exploring all options as
this is what our pest management company recommends. We are already using
pheromone and sticky monitoring traps.

Also, I am looking for recommendations for a chest freezer for the purpose
of freezing some of our textiles. I would appreciate hearing from anyone
who has purchased a freezer in the last couple years.

Thank you in advance for your advice and please feel free to contact me off
list.

--Bonnie
