You may also search mentions and review papers by The AIC Health and Safety Committee<http://www.conservation-us.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=page.viewpage&pageid=751> . The worker should consult with an industrial hygienist to conduct a Job Hazard Analysis, review protocols to limit exposure and cross-contamination, and receive training in how to evaluate, purchase and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).

States with high incidences of this disease reported to the CDC are in descending order: NM, CO, AZ, CA, WA, MT, TX, UT, NV, ID and OR. In the East, PA leads the way with 9 cases, NY has 3 and the remaining states 1. Mice infected with hantavirus are a known problem in the region where this museum is located. I understand that UV exposure is an effective way to degrade the virus but I wanted to know if anyone has any further recommendations for treating/cleaning objects exposed to infected mice. Thanks for your help, Beth Holford ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To send an email to the list, send your msg to pestlist@museumpests.Net To unsubscribe from this list send an email to pestlist@museumpests.net and in the subject put: "unsubscribe" - no quotes please.
