I would be concerned, however, with the termite specimen you found. If it is a drywood termite as I suspect, you may want to have a qualified inspector visit your storage area. Sometimes drywood termites are carried into spaces in furniture, picture frames, lumber etc. You may NOT have a structural infestation. If the termite specimen is a Formosan termite; these termites do cause structural damage and need to be controlled. Depending on where you are located, I would seek the advice of a qualified pest management firm for a positive ID. Please contact me if you need additional information.
