Just Freeze! However, we do recommend that you bag the objects (or books in this case) in 2 layers of plastic – sealed. That reduces fluctuation in relative humidity. Make sure that the temperature is cold enough (-20 deg C. is what I aim for). The freezer should not cycle (defrost). Also, I would recommend that you make sure the freeze is long enough – Will 72 hours get the center of the books down to the critical temperature? There is a white paper describing recomendaitons on the Museum Pest Net web site.
