Beneath the layers of drawings is an old wooden architectural fragment that the beetles have been tunnelling through with great enthusiasm. There are huge amounts of frass. We sealed the wrapped the crate in plastic sheeting , and plan to have it treated by anoxia with CO2. What kind of beetle is this? We don’t have a lot of experience with wood-boring insects.
