We have been offered a used wine barrel for an upcoming exhibit and I'm wondering if there is any way to clean it so that pests will not be attracted to it. It's quite large and heavy. It has two holes in the sides but I don't think the lid can be removed. We can freeze it but that won't change the fact that interior wood is soaked in wine. As much as I like it, I don't think it is appropriate for the exhibit (or the collection if it can't be exhibited). Any thoughts? Thank you illustrious colleagues! Betsy
