I just purchased an HP Pavillion dv6338se and have installed Kubuntu 6.10AMD64 from DVD. My current issue is that I am unable to get my wireless card working. It is a Broadcom 4311 and I have tried using ndiswrapper and currently trying bcm43xx-fwcutter AMD64 (1:006-1 - from the unstable repository) and it automatically installed wl_apsta.o. eth1 shows up but it will not connect to anything. The following is what I picked up from /var/log/syslog:
Apr 23 13:42:26 jayhawk kernel: [ 8223.075701] bcm43xx driver Apr 23 13:42:26 jayhawk kernel: [ 8223.076204] ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:03: 00.0[ A] -> Link [LK4E] -> GSI 10 (level, low) -> IRQ 10 Apr 23 13:42:26 jayhawk kernel: [ 8223.076216] PCI: Setting latency timer of dev ice 0000:03:00.0 to 64 Apr 23 13:42:26 jayhawk NetworkManager: <debug info>^I[1177332146.578653] nm_hal _device_added (): New device added (hal udi is '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/net _00_1a_73_32_fc_24'). I would like to be able to get the wireless working so that I can get updates. The only way that I am able to get anything on here is by hooking the laptop through the wired network that is providing dial-up via another laptop... Buran
