If Microsoft makes a better player then it deserves to "win", but there is simply no need to design something which only works on one platform or with software from only one manufacturer.
This sentence here is what the OSS / Linux community is all about, people mis-conceive us as being small-minded and "Anti-Microsoft" but in truth we dont, we are not really anti anything, just trying to win the hearts and minds of some developers out there who only see a need to program for one OS, one player etc.., as was said above, there is simply no need (or the excuses presented are not valid enough) to make your software only work on one particular type of machine, open standards I believe is the future, and in that future (again as quoted above); If Microsoft makes a better player then it deserves to "win", rather than the current state of affairs whereby you need a certain player otherwise you are locked out of the market, which isn't really fair. -- ***** Richard Forth "I used to be indecisive, but now, I''m not so sure!" *****
