I have a test box, I have yet to try Xubuntu from the November (well, it says December on the cover) issue, I'll give that a play and then try out Ubuntu 7.10.
Don't get me wrong I'm not anti-windows, but I have decided (especially since being a part of the PLUG) that Windows XP Professional is and will be the last MS Operating system I buy. You could say well what about when I get a new computer, well TBH I built my own, I have a huge server case and it gives me all the flexibility I need, in terms of hardware replacement, the only thing I have to watch is the third party driver support in Linux' HAL. Apart from that I am pretty content with Ubuntu, OpenOffice, and XMMS. Unfortunately I am a gamer, with an iPod, which means i'll always need Windows XP (although I can use Cedega, I cant replace itunes as apple have made it quite clear they are'nt supporting Linux users, which is why I won't be buying an(other) iPod (this time a) Video as planned after Christmas, I'll choose another player that DOES support Linux, instead - any makes that anyone knows of? I was thinking of the Creative Zen Player but I need to do some more research on it's compatibility with *nux). I haven't read any of the Windows mags, but I imagine what you say about them is true, I just love the way that I put down my copy of LXF after a few moments reading, and just feel inspired to explore the system and get more and more involved. Its written in a way that motivates, and inspires, and thats what I like about it, that and the fact you get far more than your six quids worth on each cover DVD, LOL On 20/11/2007, Dave <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I also settled on LXF after looking at what was on offer.
