Only the cheap SATA RAID cards (ie <£30) which I basically use as a SATA card only, doing all the RAID within the O/S. They usually only support RAID0/1 anyway, and with 4-off 500GB it makes more sense (for my applications) to use RAID5. I've not seen any cheap fake RAID5 cards, although they may exist.
I've not generally had any issues with Linux support (but then I'm only using it as a SATA card). On the other hand I frequently have problems with Windows with them (especially if I don't have a floppy disk to use to install drivers from at setup!)
