I second the earlier mention of the Canon IP4300, I have a IP4200 that I run
under Windows XP/Linux & MAC OS X

This is basically the same as the IP4300 and I've had it for about 2.5 years
- it is the best inkjet I've had

No fuss, no issues with ink dryness - duplexing works brilliantly (and for
about £60 that is amazing)

I now run it under a USB/network converter so that I can share across all my
platforms at home (under LPR)

I've just ordered an IP4300 for my dad for Christmas, if you can track them
down it is worth it (mine on order from disking.com)

Lexmark also have decent Linux support for their laser printers. I
don't know about their inkjets.
