Thanks for your reply. My comments are always in a spirit of offering a helping hand, never criticism. I'm beginning to gain a bit of experience with Linux. I still haven't got it running on that dratted laptop yet but I learn a little more each day. I think that I might write an article for beginners in due course if you think that might be useful on the site. I won't do it just yet but I think it might be a nice article to have on the site for newcomers and the curious to read. It would suit people like me who arrive knowing very little about Linux but would like to know a little more in an easy-to-understand form. Have a great Christmas.
