Right, check what the distro's listed system requirements are. You'll probably find SVGA resolutions listed as a minimum. In such a case, either mod the distro before installation, or install the distro using another display - then edit your x-windows configuration.
Please don't use 1337, there's nothing "elite" about it anymore (it was replaced by encryption years ago) - it just sounds immature. Save it for online MMO's and FPS's...
