It is still a chargeable option. I couldn't order it until my line was 
installed but once done I could pay an extra £2/month (or something like 
that) for the service, or I could pay £4.50 for unlimited extra services 
(enhanced voicemail, ringback, etc). (The prices may well be wrong.)

Which is another thing that annoys me: unlike BT, ringback is only 
available if you pay a monthly fee, not just a per-use fee. I used to 
use it perhaps once every month or two.

All I "know" is what they've told me!

I'll try resetting the phone to see if that works when I get home.

It's a Phillips DECT set, and it was getting CLI from the BT line 
previously. Obviously it was disconnected briefly as it was transferred 
from the BT socket to the Virgin one, but not for very long. I'll give 
it 30 mins or so tonight if I remember.
