This has become an interesting thread.

I have two old computers, both 7 years old (i.e. OLD) but both in perfect
condition for their age.

It seems a dreadful waste to just take them to the recycling facility. There
must be hundreds of people who would find a use for an XP PC. One is a Celeron
but the other is a Pentium 4 hyperthreading 3 GHz, 4Mb RAM and a recent nVidia
graphics card and recent increased power supply (can't remember the size but I
upped it when I added the graphics card.

But I wouldn't send them with the hard drives in. Always before, I've removed
and trashed hard drives and then recycled the old machine - but these are both
very usable still.

Any thoughts?

Brian
