Thanks everyone for help Richard - you are right not enough info!
So here is info that is missing! Server is out on the internet. not sure of flavour. It is headless and he can only access via the normal "User" tools - ftp, etc. I will clarify tomorrow Michele, now that you know that, do you helpful suggestions still work? Thanks everyone! Then you can use Easy Backup (or any other backup programs) to copy/move the backup files to a different drive.Usually those backup software allows you to do incremental or differential backups. Your friend should look in the repository for his flavour of Linux. No need to create any script or to learn cron or any other language :-) Michele. _______________________________________________ Peterboro mailing list [email protected] https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/peterboro _______________________________________________ Peterboro mailing list [email protected] https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/peterboro
