Scope
Manufacturing systems are one of the earliest application domains of
Petri nets. Petri nets based models have been extensively used for
modeling control, qualitative and quantitative analysis, scheduling
analysis, and modeling or analysis of various other aspects of
manufacturing systems. A variety of models have been used for these
purposes, extending Petri nets with high level features, time
constraints, or hybrid components.
The introduction of web-based techniques in the manufacturing process
brings new challenges in modeling and analysis of such systems,
addressing among others, large scale systems analysis,
dynamic/reconfigurable systems modelling, reliability and performance
analysis and monitoring.
The goal of this special session is to report on applied or
theoretical research, case studies, industrial experiences on the use
of Petri Nets in the framework of e-oriented manufacturing systems.

Submission
Submitted papers (6 pages in IFAC double column format) will be reviewed
by at least two referees.
Both academic and industrial oriented communications will be considered.
Accepted contributions will be published in INCOM Proceedings by Elsevier.
