INVITATION TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS FOR ORGANISING THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON APPLICATION AND THEORY OF PETRI NETS AND OTHER MODELS OF CONCURRENCY

We are now in the very nice situation that we have a large number of potential organisers for 2008-2010.

For 2008 there are at least four candidates:

- Brazil (Campina Grande)
- Canada (Toronto)
- China (Xian)
- Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and several other possibilities)

For 2009 and 2010 there are at least three candidates:

- France (Paris)
- Germany (Hamburg)
- Switzerland (Geneva)

We expect the 2008 conference to be outside Europe, the 2009 conference to be inside Europe, while the 2010 conference could be either inside or outside depending on the candidates.

At the Steering Committee meeting June 2005 in Miami, it was decided to ask each candidate to make a more detailed description of the facilities and conditions which they are able offer. A document specifying the kind of information which we would like to receive will be sent to the candiates mentioned above in the beginning of January 2006.

The deadline for applciations is April 1, 2006, and we expect a decision for 2008 and perhaps also 2009 to be made at the SC meeting in Turku, June 2006.

Additional candidates are welcome! Please contact me. Then you will receive the appropriate information.
