Call For Papers The Journal of Logic and Algebraic Programming Special Issue on Quantitative Formal Methods: Theory and Applications Guest editors: Suzana Andover, Annabelle McIver and Manuel Nunez This is a general call for papers for the special issue related to the 1st workshop in Quantitative Formal Methods: Theory and Applications http://www.win.tue.nl/QFM/ which was held in Eindhoven on 3 November 2009 as part of the FM 2009 world congress. The themes of the workshop, and the special issue are broadly aligned with theoretical results and their practical application in any area of formal methods which requires quantitative reasoning or analysis. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to): - Formal modeling of quantitative behaviour: timed, continuous and hybrid, probabilistic, costs and rewards, expected-value; - Formal verification, testing, analysis as above; - Formal analysis of quantitative performance, broadly understood; - Industrial case-studies on any (combination) of the above, e.g., hardware verification and performance evaluation, security systems with probabilistic behavior, risk analysis in safety-critical systems, quantitative aspects of wireless networks, etc. - Quantitative techniques in refinement, simulation and bisimulation; - Quantitative algebraic and rewriting techniques. This is an open call for submissions; articles (of approximate length 15-30 pages) should be original and high quality, and should neither have been published already, nor submitted simultaneously elsewhere. Important dates: Submission deadline: May 1 2010 Reviewing notification: August 1 2010 Submissions must comply with JLAP's author guidelines (see http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/journaldescription.cws_home/505623/authorinstructions) be written in English, and be formatted using LaTeX. Submissions should be submitted via the JLAP electronic submission system http://ees.elsevier.com/jlap/ . To submit, authors should be registered on the system and select "Special issue: QFM 2009" when they reach the "Article Type" step in the submission process.
