A. Petri in his seminal work in 1962. Since then Petri nets have been applied in several areas for modeling and analysis of discrete event systems. The aim of this special session is to provide a platform for international researchers and practitioners to present and share their original works addressing the new challenges, research issues and novel solutions of Petri Nets and Discrete Event Systems.
