Dear colleagues, I'm happy to announce new versions of CPN Tools (3.4) and Access/CPN (2.2), and that we are adding a new tool, Grade/CPN, to the family. For a list of changes and a description of the new tool, see below.

Access/CPN (http://cpntools.org/accesscpn) makes it possible to load and simulate CPN models from Java applications. Grade/CPN (http://cpntools.org/gradecpn) makes it easy to test student assignments created using CPN Tools. CPN Tools is available for Windows (XP, 7, and ready for 8). Access/CPN and Grade/CPN are available for Mac OS X (Intel), Windows (XP, 7, and ready for 8), and Linux. CPN Tools 3.4 introduces these new features over 3.2: - Much improved error messages - New random distribution functions (gamma, beta, beta_pert, rayleigh) - Much better support for path-names with non-ASCII characters - Bugfixes Access/CPN introduces these features over 2.0: - Improved handling of monitors - Better handling of starting simulator; should work in packaged jars and Eclipse workspaces on all platforms. - Vastly improved exporter to CPN Tools (thanks in part to Dirk Fahland) - Better support for loading while not connected to the internet (thanks to Stephan Schweig) Grade/CPN makes it possible to grade multiple CPN (student) assignments against a single specification. It supports testing models against a temporal logic specification as well as simple sanity checks against a base model. For more information about Grade/CPN, visit our presentation at the Workshop on Petri Nets and Software Engineering next week in Hamburg (satellite event of Petri Nets 2012). We also provide demonstrations during both tool demonstration slots, so hit us up for a talk and demonstration. The main architects behind the tool are Kurt Jensen, Søren Christensen, Lars M. Kristensen, and Michael Westergaard. From the autumn of 2010, CPN Tools is transferred to the AIS group, Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. -- Michael Westergaard <[email protected]> ---- [[ Petri Nets World: ]] [[ http://www.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/TGI/PetriNets/ ]] [[ Mailing list FAQ: ]] [[ http://www.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/TGI/PetriNets/pnml/faq.html ]] [[ Post messages/summary of replies: ]] [[ [email protected] ]]
