Dear Petri net community,

I am happy to announce that version 1.0.0 of the ePNK is available
now. It runs under Eclipse Indigo (3.7) or Juno (4.2).

The ePNK is a generic Petri net tool and tool development platform,
which is based on the Eclipse platform. It has PNML as its native
file format for Petri nets. The ePNK comes with a generic graphical
editor for Petri nets, to which new types of Petri nets can easily be
plugged in (as so-called Petri Net Type Definitions).

Version 1.0.0 supports more graphical features of PNML, and comes with
an interface that allows applications to show visual information on
top of the actual Petri net model. Moreover, the ePNK is now deployed
together with a simulator for high-level Petri nets (called HLPNG in
ISO/IEC 15909-2); this simulator supports most data types and
operations of ISO/IEC 15909-2. This simulator also allows simulating
so-called Network algorithms (HLPNG Schemas which are instantiated
with a specific communication network).

For more information on the ePNK and the extensions and changes with
respect to version 0.9.2, and for download and installation information,
please, have a look at the ePNK Home Page at:

For the quick and daring who have an Indigo or Juno version of
Eclipse installed already, here is the respective Eclipse update
site (which works for both versions of Eclipse):

An Eclipse project with some examples PNML files so that you have
something "to play with" is available at
