Dear Colleague,
we are organizing a special session on “Control, estimation, and diagnosis of
purely logic discrete event systems” at CDC 2013 (http://cdc2013.units.it/)
that will be held in Florence, Italy, on December 10-13, 2013.
Aim of the session:
This session aims at collecting advanced and innovative approaches from leading
experts in the Discrete Event Systems (DES) area with a focus on purely logic
approaches for control, estimation, and fault diagnosis. The interdisciplinary
field of DES combines different formalisms, methodologies and tools from
control, computer science and operations research. The research activity in
this field is driven by the needs of many different applications domains:
manufacturing, process control, supervisory systems, software engineering,
transportation, and so on. DES is now a mature field and numerous interesting
applications have been developed in control, estimation and diagnosis. The
purpose of this special session is to provide researchers and practitioners an
opportunity to share the most recent advances in the areas of control,
estimation, and diagnosis of DES. Papers may also present academic surveys and
reviews that summarize state-of-the-art theory and practice in this area.
Prospective authors are invited to submit original papers to the special
session.
Topics of interest will include (but are not limited to):
· Control of DES
· Identification of DES
· Estimation of DES
· Fault detection and isolation
· Fault diagnosis
· Decision making
· Observers for reconfiguration
· Monitoring
· Supervision and control of reconfigurable systems
· …
Application areas (but not exclusively):
· Manufacturing systems
a.. Transportation
b.. Embedded systems
c.. Power transmission systems
d.. Sensor networks
e.. …
We cordially invite you to submit a contribution to this special session.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you want to submit a paper, and if
so, please send us a title, a list of authors, and a short abstract of your
paper with indication of the relationship to the session theme by Monday, March
4, 2013. The deadline for submitting papers to the conference is Monday March
11, 2013.
Papers in the accepted special session should be submitted via the regular
paper submission procedure.
Here are the important dates of the conference:
March 4, 2013: Deadline for submission of special sessions
March 11, 2013: Deadline for submission of regular and special sessions papers
Mid July, 2013: Notification of acceptance of regular and special session papers
September 5, 2013: Deadline for submission of final manuscripts – regular and
special sessions
Hoping to hear soon from you.
Best regards,
Mariagrazia Dotoli ([email protected])
Carla Seatzu ([email protected])
