The Federation MathSTIC at the Université Paris 13 offers a faculty position at
the full Professor level in mathematics and/or computer science. This position
may also be a Chair funded by Sorbonne Paris Cité
(http://www.sorbonne-paris-cite.fr) and will start on September 1, 2015.
Applications in all fields related to the following domains are welcome:
        - Combinatorial Optimization and Machine Learning applied to Digital
Content
        - High-Performance Computing and Distributed Systems
        - Combinatorial Physics, Statistical Physics, Combinatorics
Benefits of this Chair include a reduced teaching load (reduction of a third)
and a highly competitive start-up supporting package (300Keuros).

The Federation is specially interested in candidates with a strong grounding in
mathematics and computer science. With this recruitment, MathSTIC aims at
developing ambitious and promising research and promoting interactions with the
labs of the federation, see http://mathstic.univ-paris13.fr/. As an example,
collaboration may be developed between high-performance computing and
distributed computing, between image processing and massive data processing,
between probability theory and analysis of algorithms. The Research Federation
MathSTIC includes the three laboratories in mathematics, computer science and
communication technologies at the University Paris 13: LAGA in pure and applied
mathematics, LIPN in computer science, L2TI in information and communication
technologies.

The successful applicant will have shown exceptional potential for achieving
research excellence. She/he will be expected to sustain a leading research
programme, to be active in developing and submitting competitive applications
for external funding, and to pursue collaborations inside and outside the
federation. Candidates should also have a strong interest in teaching and in
supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. Adequate knowledge of
French is therefore a prerequisite. The starting date is September 2015.

Candidates are required to hold "qualification" for a Full professor position
(French academic requirement) or hold the rank of Professor with tenure in
their universities at the time of application.
