Dear Colleagues,

We are organizing a special session entitled «Theory and Application of Petri nets» at the next the CASE'2015 ( Conference on Automation Science and Engineering) that will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden from August 24th to August 28th, 2015 (http://case2015.org/). If you intend to submit a contribution to this special session, please send us a title, the authors and a short abstract by February 10th. Below we are appending the session’s topic description. If you need further information do not hesitate to contact us.

The objective of this special session is to gather original and recent approaches and applications that are based on Petri nets. The goal is to share new methods for control, state estimation, diagnosis, etc., that can be applied in practical systems including manufacturing, logistic, transportation, communication, robotics, healthcare systems and to present interesting applications, case studies and tools. The topics include but are not limited to:

     Scheduling and Resource Allocation;
     Modeling and Analysis of systems modeled by Petri nets;
     Fault Diagnosis, State-Estimation, and Identification;
     Petri Nets in Manufacturing and Logistic Systems;
     Planning and Distributed Control of Mobile Robots;
     Petri nets and Verification Tools in Healthcare Systems;
     Test Cases, Benchmarks and Tools;
     Applications and Experiences in Practice.
