The Department of Language and Software Engineering (LSE) of the University of 
Rennes 1, France invites applications from outstanding applicants for a Full 
Professor position in Language and Software Engineering. Candidates in all 
areas of Programming Languages, Software Engineering and Formal Methods will be 
considered (basically the domains of the CAV, CONCUR, ICFP, ICSE, LICS, PLDI, 
POPL, SAS, TACAS, etc. conferences). Candidates must have a PhD degree in 
Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent plus 
an HDR (Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches) or an equivalent experience. 
Candidates must have a distinguished research, publication, teaching and 
service record, and demonstrated leadership ability in developing and expanding 
(funded) research programs.

The LSE Department is one of the 7 research departments of IRISA, a joint 
research Institute of CNRS, ENS Rennes, Inria, INSA de Rennes, 
Institut-Mines-Télécom, Université de Bretagne Sud (UBS), Université de Rennes 
1 and Supélec. Founded in 1975 and having recently grown to 750 people, 
including 240 PhD students, IRISA stands out as one of the very top research 
lab in ICT in France (see http://www.irisa.fr/)

The University of Rennes 1 offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in all domains 
covered by IRISA, as well as in interdisciplinary fields such as 
bio-informatics.
