   It appears the step that failed is just initializing the virtual machine, it 
hasn't gotten anywhere near PETSc? If it fails in this situation it should not 
send me any email, why should I get spammed with email about things I can't do 
anything about? It should only send me email if it is an error in the truly 
"PETSc" part of the process.
