Thanks for that. I deleted the branch and checked it out again as you
suggested, did make clean and rebuilt everything, then rebuilt my code.
It has fixed the second problem (build error calling SNESSetJacobian())
but now I am getting the original problem back again (run-time error
calling SNESComputeJacobianDefaultColor()).
I checked that I've got the right PETSc revision and I'm pretty sure I
have (though it is a bit hard to tell since it's been rebased).

git fetch

to get the changes

Thanks, I think that's fixed that problem, but it looks like there
might be another one now. When I build my code I'm getting an error
when I call SNESSetJacobian():
1565 | SNES_Jacobian, self%context, ierr)
| 1
Error: There is no specific subroutine for the generic
‘snessetjacobian’ at (1)
The self%context object I'm passing in for the ctx argument is a
derived type, which used to work ok.

I just tried updating to the latest PETSc 'main' branch. Since I'm using
Fortran I had to modify a few bits of my code for the new type checking
etc. recently introduced here:

That was ok and my code now builds again but I am getting a new run-time
error (see below). It seems to be complaining about the type of the
argument 'ctx' in SNESComputeJacobianDefaultColor(). I am passing a
MatFDColoring object in for that. Up to now that has been ok.
Has something changed with the way that function has to be called?
