I'm sorry - I meant to reply this morning. I did try to apply the patch and other than failing on the manpage, it worked fine.

Does it fail to apply? The revision doesn't have to match exactly, as there were no large changes between revisions lately. If the patch applies (maybe with increased fuzz), it will work fine.
If it doesn't, and you can't apply it manually, I'll try to provide a patch specifically for the FreeBSD port.
