Just to add a little to what Daniel provided. You can
also access Jaguar through ASP, et al. You can also
skip the page server by using java/iiop. You can
develop a java app that calls jag components directly
via iiop (Internet Inter-Orb Protocol). To answer
your question about using only PowerDynamo, YES, you
can use PD without jag. For example, you could have a
web datawindow on a page that makes a direct
connection to the DB, basically like a 2-tier app
would. But if you are going to have true dynamic
content with any degree of sophistication in your
business logic (ie not just reporting), you'll want to
use PD and Jaguar, or ASP/Jag, or java/Jag. I would
definitely not recommend using the pfc with Jaguar,
there's WAY too much overhead. There's a couple of
good class libraries available for Jaguar, including
Riverton's How/Openframe (www.riverton.com) and Dyamic
Data Solutions DDS framework (www.dyn-data.com). Let
me know if you need more info.
