You can detect a RedHat 7.3 host by running "rpm -q redhat-release", but it is
not very clean. The best is to leave the user the choice to rebuild the SRPM
using a flag.
Actually, there is a semi-clean way inside a SPEC file to apply a patch only when being built on a particular architecture. I'll send the relevant bits to the list later this morning (morning for me, that is!).
