I assume you are running pgpool-II 2.x not pgpool or pgpool-II 1.x. Also I assume pgpool is running in master slave mode (there's no such thing "load balancer mode").
If all these assumptions are correct: 1) pgpool is a "connection based" load balancer. 2) CREATE TEMP TABLE is only sento to Slony master. 3) The temp table created on the master server can be accessd as long as you are in the same session in which the temp table has been created. -- Tatsuo Ishii SRA OSS, Inc.
