hi everyone!
i decided to built postgresql from scratch instead of
using the redhat .rpm format and am getting the following error
which i was hoping someone could offer a fix 4:) when i su to
'postgres' and get to the 'pgsql' prompt i attempt to do a 'initdb'
to initially create my database structure i get a:
ERROR: cannot read block 0 of pg_variable
initdb: could not create template database
initdb: cleaning up by wiping out /var/lib/pgsql/base/template1
... one other item i noticed doing a find for 'PG_VERSION' that it
does not exist anywhere in the fs. Where and what strings should be
inserted in this file? your assistance is appreciated...
