Hello,
We have been trying to install a MySQL <=> perl DBI /
DBD on our raq3 systems lately and we beleive it really... _really_ messed up
the server.
Although we are not sure it has to do with the problem we are
having, here it is:
When we are trying to start the PostgreSQL Database (it won't
start on boot), we get the following error message:
[root@www init.d]# ./postgresql start
Setting up PostgreSQL: FATAL: StreamServerPort: bind() failed: Permission denied Is another postmaster already running on that port? If not, remove socket node (/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5583) and retry. /usr/bin/postmaster: cannot create UNIX stream port [] Note that we are starting it from the /etc/rc.d/init.d/
directory (a startup script).
Would anyone have tips to find out what is the problem and
help us fix it? I totally uuninstalled everything aobut the MySQL dbd and
dbi, as well as anything that could be in PG's way. We also considered
re-installing cobalt's disctribution RPMs concerning PG... with no
success.
This is getting quite urgent because our administration system
is based on it.
Thank you!
