Yes, it's called SELECT.

There is a standard schema called INFORMATION_SCHEMA, which contains a
variety of relevant views.

Notably, you could request:

 SELECT * FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES;

That has the merit of actually conforming to SQL standards...
