Does anybody know if it is possible to create a set of *blank* WAL files for
PostgreSQL 8.1, knowing that the database was safely shut down and all data is
in tact?

The reason is that during the weekend I failed our master database over to our
disaster recovery site, put that in read only mode, whilst I upgraded the
master database, and after completing the upgrade and shutting the master down,
I some how messed up re-connecting DRDB and lost all the new WAL files. From
that point on the master would not start-up for obvious reasons, but I knew
there were no pending transactions to be rolled forward in the WAL files, yet
without a valid WAL file its impossible to start PostgreSQL.

Thanks in advance,
regards
