I'm helping a customer using PostgreSQL 8.0/win who accidentally deleted a lot of quite valuable data. At that time they discovered no valid backup procedure was in place. (no comment)

They have a real old manual backup, but lost of data would be lost.
This backup is to old to do forward PITR from with the current xlogs.

Long shot:
Is it possible to reconstruct the prior situation from the transaction log by goin back to a previous checkpoint?
The xlog seems old enough to possibly hold the desired situation.
Please help!
