PostgreSQL 8.0.0 RC3 was released over the weekend in what might actually
be the last release candidate before final release. If you are running
PostgreSQL on a platform that has not reported success yet, please do
download and test RC3 as it might be your last chance to get a fix in before
final release.

There was only minor smattering of fixes this week as things have really
started to settle down now. Some shared memory issues on windows were
addressed. A compiler issue on SunOS4 was fixed. A deadlock issue in the
buffer manager was fixed. And last but not least, documentation changes
included some work on external projects, rules, triggers, and the various pl
languages were committed.

Work on the PostgreSQL website continued this week after a lot of praise
and several bug reports were passed on to the development team. One bug in
particular, the overlapping footer problem for some Mozilla based browsers,
has been fixed and more updates will follow, so please keep that feedback
coming.
