The PostgreSQL Development Group is getting ready for a feature freeze in June. Exciting new features include 2-phase commit, multiple OUT parameters, bitmapped indexes, shared row locks, integrated auto-VACUUM and buffer cache fixes for SMP. Now is a good time to get your submissions in, as -hackers will not look kindly on mega-patches two days before freeze. Jan Wieck has found two rare race conditions which will be fixed in Lively, wide-ranging discussions have been going on about enabling pl/pgsql by default, acquiring patents, Unicode, and Oracle-style packages.
