We are happy to announce the release of Archiveopteryx 2.08.

    http://www.archiveopteryx.org/2.08

Archiveopteryx is a mail archive server that stores normalized mail in a
PostgreSQL database, and serves it using IMAP/POP. It has now been used
in production for some years, and is available both on commercial terms
and as open source.

The last release announced on this list was 2.0 (on 2007-06-04).
Notable changes since then include:

- Sieve improvements: vacation autoresponses, subaddresses, date tests.
- RRDTool integration for monitoring (aox.org/monitoring).
- Many web archive display improvements.
- The IMAP SORT extension.
- bin/aox (CLI) improvements: undelete, list rights/setacl.
- Significant performance improvements across the board.
- Many more workarounds for parsing broken mail.
- Many, many bugfixes.

We strongly suggest upgrading to this version.

There is a live archive of pgsql-announce served by Archiveopteryx at
http://archives.oryx.com/archives/pgsql-announce (for details on how to
set up an archive, see http://www.archiveopteryx.org/howto/web-archive).

There will be no new features in 2.x. The next release with new
features will be 3.0.0, and bugfixes will be released as 3.0.1,
3.0.2, and so on. (In other words, new features are introduced
only in 3.x.0, and bugfixes for a given 3.x.0 release will be
released as 3.x.y.) We will continue to release 2.x bugfix
releases after the release of 3.0.0, and continue to release
2.x and 3.0.x bugfix releases after 3.1.0.

Please join the mailstore-announce list if you want to be notified of
future releases; and mailstore-users to discuss Archiveopteryx.
