I am trying to install postgreSQL v8.2.5 as a prerequisite for Firefox Bugzilla application on one of our network servers (Microsoft Server 2000). It goes through the install and everything runs ok to a point where it is "Initializing Database Cluster (this may take a minute or two) and it pops up an error:
PostgreSQL 8.2 Failed to run initdb: 1! Please see the logfile in 'C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.2\tmp\initdb.log'. Note! You must read/copy this logfile before you click OK, or it will automatically be removed. The logfile reads: The files belonging to this database system will be owned by user "postgres". This user must also own the server process. The database cluster will be initialized with locale C. fixing permissions on existing directory C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/8.2/data ... ok creating subdirectories ... initdb: could not create directory "C:/Program Files": File exists initdb: removing contents of data directory "C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/8.2/data" ANY SUGGESTIONS??
