Just a thought.... Why can't you create a temporary table from your dynamic query and use that temp table in the for loop.

I am clear with your result set using FOR ..LOOP but mine is not a normal query… it was built Dynamic based on my Input Parameters. Please look and tell me if you are not clear with my query. For eg CREATE TYPE date_condition ( condition_id int, from_date date, to_date date); Instead , you can CREATE TABLE (ORDERSID INTEGER,ORDERDATE TIMESTAMP,COMPANYNAME TEXT,EVENTNAME CHARACTER VARYING); You can have result returning a set of records Feel free to comment on it Regrds sathish On Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 3:08 PM, [EMAIL PROTECTED] < [EMAIL PROTECTED] > wrote: Hi, Iam new to Postgresql, now i need to create a Dynamic SQL Query for returning the record set based on my Input Parameters.
