When I made it visible all of the missing f15 postgresql rpms showed up in yumex. When I installed the missing rpms the older fedora rpms vanished and I was able to do as Tom suggested: service postgresql pg_upgrade and the conversion was successful :) I am now running version Pg 9.0.4.
