[GENERAL] Differences lang with or without "u" example:pltcl and pltclu

Hi all
I wonderring what could be differences beetwen languages with and 
without "u" for example:
pltcl - pltclu
plperl - plperlu
Is anybodu know and could point me suitable link or something?
