Do you really want to TCO of PostgreSQL to raise that much when the software could help lowering it? If you're a shop where you can't have only experts in any given domain do level 1 nightly "fix", maybe you'd still like them to be able to follow some procedures involving server config change. On what grounds are you wanting this not to be possible? Regards, -- dim
