Right procedure to reproduce is: postgres=# CREATE TABLE foo(c1 int); CREATE TABLE postgres=# ALTER FOREIGN TABLE foo RENAME TO bar; ERROR: "foo" is not a foreign table HINT: Use ALTER FOREIGN TABLE instead.
