I am calling pg_upgrade via command

 su postgres -c "cd /mnt/ebs/pgsql/upgrade_data; pg_upgrade -b
/usr/lib64/pgsql/postgresql-9.2/bin -B /usr/bin/ -d /mnt/ebs/pgsql/data -D
/mnt/ebs/pgsql/data94 -k"

It is based on customized RHEL packages
