[HACKERS] trigger model

Hi,   Where can I find information about the trigger execution model of postgresql ? In particular I want to know how triggers are fired when an update happens in the database. Is the trigger evaluation and firing part of transaction ? Please let me know where I can find more information on this.   thanks chetan
