Whether it did or not would make not the slightest bit of difference, since (without the patch) psql isn't going to be looking for an error response.
True, but an indication of an error on the server log might have been nice. We have now made psql
behave correctly, but there is no guarantee that other clients will behave correctly. Surely sending
copy data after the end marker is sent should be an error.
