[HACKERS] Creating a SHELL type [Was: User Defined Types in Java]

I just discovered that it is now possible to create a SHELL type using 
the 'CREATE TYPE <type name>' syntax using cvs head. Will this come in 
8.2 only or will it also be included in 8.1.4?
